I got the bus down to Lindos but on the way back, when I looked at the timetable I realised that I had over a hours wait so I tried hitching. Today I have had lifts off - and I'm not making this up - a Greek who was, I suspect mildly intoxicated, an Albanian girl who had been brought up in Norway and then moved to Rhodes, an Italian woman, a Russian couple, and three lads from Brazil. I've never seen such a mix of nationalities. Hitching is actually quicker than catching a bus. Tomorrow I'm off to Symi, I've just got to walk down to the harbour because I've discovered that there is a slow boat which may be cheaper but I need to check the timetable tonight.
